Daijoji - Anjo

It is a large and historic temple. I don't think it's used much except for the Dan family.

There is a stone monument in front of the temple on the site of the castle tower.

When I was in elementary school (about 40 years ago), I went on excursions and social tours, and although the gate in the photo is magnificent, there is no sign that the castle was built. I heard that Ieyasu's mother was hiding, but the true meaning is uncertain.

It is located at the site of the main enclosure of Anjo Castle. The mortuary tablet of the 4th castellan of Matsudaira Anjo is enshrined.

Ansho Castle Honmaru Ruins It's a beautiful tower gate. A temple built by Matsudaira Chikatada in 1489, which was built in the northeastern part of the castle to protect the demon gate of Ansho Castle. For a long time, the area around Ansho Castle had been a fierce battleground for the Oda clan, but in 1560, "Yoshimoto Imagawa" was killed in the Battle of Okehazama, and Ieyasu Tokugawa, who became independent of the Imagawa clan, seized Ansho Castle. In 1562, the Kiyoshu Alliance between Nobunaga Oda and Ieyasu Tokugawa was formed, and Ansho Castle was abandoned. In addition, "Ryounin" was established as "Ansho Battle War Dead General Bodhisattva" at the beginning of the Edo period. Then, in 1792, "Ryounin" moved to the site of the main enclosure of Ansho Castle and became a temple named "Anshoyama Daijoji" and continues to the present day. Also, in a corner of the graveyard on the north side of Daijoji, there is a tombstone of "Tadataka Honda", the father of "Tadakatsu Honda", one of the four Tokugawa Tennos who died in the war here. (Tadataka Honda's father, Tadatoyo, was also killed in the battle over Ansho Castle.) The loyalty of the Honda family to the Matsudaira family and the Tokugawa family is amazing! And the tombstone is built on the turtle, which is allowed for those who have made a special contribution to the Tokugawa family. It is said to have originated in China, but it was probably built in honor of the award and with the intention of remaining in posterity for a long time.

Jodo-shu Chion-in is a temple of the sect of the head temple. It is a sect closely related to the Tokugawa family, such as Zojoji in Tokyo and Daijuji in Okazaki. The priest was kind and nice, and he was very good at it. I had a lot of fun listening to various stories. Thank you very much. The characters are very good, and the long-awaited Ansho Castle ?, which will be completed next time, is said to have been handwritten by the chief priest here. We are very much looking forward to the release date. Speaking of greed, there are many other famous castles in Anjo City, and I would like you to build many other castles, such as Terabe Castle and Shinshiro City in Okumikawa.
