t	terrano on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 釜石市・遠野市・大槌町にまたがる丘陵地帯に建設された大規模風力発電施設です。和山牧場・貞任山口牧場・琴畑牧場・白見牧場・新山牧場の敷地を使い、43基の大型風力発電機を設置しています。総出力42,900kWで、これは釜石市・遠野市・大槌町の約3万世帯分を賄える電力と言われます。発電用風車は離れたところから見ると今一つ大きさが判断しづらいのですが、直下まで行くとその巨大さに圧倒されます。発電機のある高さ(風車中心)まで68m、風車の直径は61.4mあるそうですから、最大の高さは100mほどになります。風力発電機は無音で回っているイメージですが、近づくと独特のノイズを感じ、少し不気味なほどです。遠くから見る美しさもさることながら、間近で迫力と存在感を体感するのもよいでしょう。もともと牧場だった場所に作られた施設ですので、アクセス路はやや狭い山道もあります。曲がりくねった道を走り慣れた人には苦にならないはずですが、運転が得意でない人やレンタカーなど乗り慣れない車を運転している場合は神経を使うかもしれません。またウインドファームのエリア内は未舗装ですから走りにくい路面です。車で走行する際には十分注意してください。 A large-scale wind power generation facility built in a hilly area that straddles Kamaishi City, Tono City, and Otsuchi Town.
