★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed over at a nearby hotel to watch the fireworks at Lake Biwa, and Colorado was one of the few places open in the morning for breakfast. Their menu is fairly limited (toasts, coffee and tea) but service is friendly and the toasts are thick and fragrant. Coffee is a strong dark roast and was also good :-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the only coffee shop that opens at 7:30 in the nearby JR Otsu station. Coffee is siphoned ahead of time and heated up in the glass flask. Extra thick white toast and cheese toasts were yummy. Coffee was appropriately strong. Too bad again for the smoker salaryman... would have wanted to sit in there to enjoy more coffee otherwise...
