魚喜久と厨房を共用していると思われ、当然ながら料理の品格は高い。
店構えや割烹の姉妹店というイメージから、高級店と思うかも知れないが、良心的な値段設定。
「牛すじ煮込み」は嫌いでなければ絶対試してみて欲しい。モツ煮込みが好きな方であればハマるはず❗
一点不満なのはサワー類を頼むとグラスに山ほど氷が入っていて、直ぐに飲み干してしまう。
連れは『三口でなくなる』とぼやいていた。
カキ氷じゃないんだから、氷よりも酒を多くして欲しい。以前は違ったんだけどな、作る人によるのか？
店舗構造のためか混み合うと料理の回転がやや鈍る印象がある。
週末は混み合うので事前予約が必須。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 令和2年2月10日限定で赤穂の牡蠣のイベントがあると聞き、色々あるお店の中から酒房おかんさんをセレクト！
理由は新発田の情報誌に載っていた赤穂牡蠣バター焼きが美味しそうだったから。
劇的に美味しかったです。
お通しに出た茶碗蒸し、今まで食べた茶碗蒸しの中で1番おいしいものでした。ナメコや様々な具材が入り、卵も緩くも硬くもなく、また食べたい！これがお通しだなんて…最高です。また行きたいです。
