★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 曹洞宗の寺院で、山号は輿休山、十一面観世音菩薩を祀り、奥三河七観音3番霊場。輿休山勅養寺」という名は、文武天皇の勅使、草鹿砥公宣卿によってつけられ、皇室の御紋である十六花弁の菊の御紋を使うことを許されたので、本堂の扉や屋根瓦には今でも菊の御紋がみられる。
It is a temple of Soto sect, and the mountain is enshrined at Mt. The name of “Kyakuzan Reyo-ji” was given by Emperor of Emperor Bunmu, Tomonori Kusaka, and was allowed to use the 16-petal chrysanthemum pattern of the Imperial Family. The roof tiles still have chrysanthemum patterns.

どうやら鳳来寺を開山した「利修仙人」に病気平癒を頼みに行った、という奈良時代の逸話と思われます
