★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 緑深い山裾に建つ曹洞宗の禅寺。板倉家の菩提寺である。苔むした石段を上るとすぐに簡素な山門、くぐってすぐ右に曲がり石段を上ると立派な本堂が建つ。本堂は日中なら堂内に入りお参りできる。本尊の他に、三河七福神の一つ、布袋像を安置している。
本堂のすぐ左側の石段を上ると、小ぶりな赤いお堂が建っている。このお堂は肖影堂といい、京都所司代をつとめた板倉勝重公をまつる廟所で、愛知県指定文化財になっている。堂内には遺骨を納めた勝重の木像(愛知県指定文化財)を安置しているが、一般には公開されていない。お堂の周囲には、板倉家歴代の墓がずらりと並ぶ。この肖影堂の付近はやたら蚊が多く、刺されまくるので、夏から秋にかけてのお参りはおすすめしない。
交通の便はあまりよくないが、広い駐車場があるので車で来ても安心。公衆トイレも完備している。
 A Zen temple of the Soto sect built on the foot of a deep green mountain. Itakura family's family temple. As soon as you climb the mossy stone steps, you will find a simple mountain gate, and when you pass through it, turn right and climb the stone steps to reach the magnificent main hall. You can visit the main hall during the daytime. In addition to the principal image, the statue of Budai, one of the seven gods of good fortune, is enshrined.
If you go up the stone steps to the immediate left of the main hall, you will see a small red hall. This temple is called Shokagedo, and is a mausoleum dedicated to Katsushige Itakura, who served as the chief of Kyoto Shoshidai, and is designated as a cultural property by Aichi Prefecture. A wooden statue of Katsushige (a cultural property designated by Aichi Prefecture) containing the remains is enshrined in the hall, but it is not open to the public. The tombs of the Itakura family are lined up around the temple. There are a lot of mosquitoes in the vicinity of this Shokagedo, and it is bitten, so we do not recommend visiting from summer to autumn.
The transportation is not very convenient, but there is a large parking lot so it is safe to come by car. There is also a public toilet.
