T	Terry Kartenberg on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ この池は二上山の日没鑑賞地として著名だが、日本書紀に見える壬申の乱においての大和における両軍合戦の内の激戦、大友皇子方壱伎史韓国と大海人皇子方大伴連吹負の葦池の戦いの場所であった「葦池」伝承地の一つでもある。尚「葦池」がどの池かは決定材料がない為複数の候補地がある。王寺町の聖徳太子ゆかりの片岡付近にあった池だという説が江戸時代の地誌「和州旧跡幽考」にあるが根拠が判然としない等決定打に欠く為、池の築造年代が明確に分かるようなデータが出ても確定できると言い切れない点は残る。
