Best Arabic plate in CARVAAN TOKYO. Vegan friendly restaurant.

It has a luxurious interior, nice staff and good service… the portions are not particularly very large and of course not cheap… the reason I gave 3 stars is that although we didn’t have a big meal we had uncomfortable stomach after eating it…

The service and ambience is great, but the dishes are extremely overpriced. The portions are much smaller than shown in the pictures. The chef was certainly confused between Indian, Persian and Arabian cuisine.

A luxury Arabian restaurant in Shibuya at 12th floor of Shibuya Sky Scramble. Considering the price, the portions are small but the quality is good! The staff are kind and answering all the questions! We went there as a birthday lunch, but the birthday dish is not recommended, quality of deserts is also average! The vegan menu is also available!

The ambience is quite different from what you would usually expect. Muted lighting and a soft vibe. The theme of the restaurant is Middle Eastern, although managed by Japanese staff. We had the Turkish coffee, Baklava and Kanafeh. Although they were all delicious, they were a bit on the pricier side if you compare portions. Would love to go back to try their main dishes.

3.8 stars I almost didn't come because some of the reviews were so harsh. Do know that their hours have been updated due to Corona so check the hours beforehand to avoid disappointment. I found the staff all to be quite young but basically very polite and kind and if you ask about any ingredients they are sure to find out for you. I've been to many high-end afternoon teas but I found this one uses really good ingredients. The environment also did not feel like Japan so it was very refreshing. It feels like we traveling to a foreign country. The inside of the restaurant is very dim at the interior is kind of like a medieval theme. The portions are not very big but the quality was surprisingly good. I had the afternoon tea set at was delighted by all the unique spices and flavors. The salad had Sacha inchi nuts which are quite rare and hard to find but they sell it at the Carvaan shop in Tokyo Food show, next door. The cheesecake was one of the best I've ever had and I've had a lot of cheesecakes before. The baklava could have been crispier but it was not sickeningly sweet as it is that many places. Don't get me wrong, it was very sweet... Just less sweet than other places. The lemon Myrtle tea was fantastic. The cardamom coffee tea was a bit underwhelming and watery. The tahini paste that goes with the Falafel wrap was really good though the fried falafel inside was somewhat greasy but still good tasting. Although it's kind of higher priced I would like to come again for a lunch set. A pleasant surprise in the middle of Shibuya. After dining you can get an amazing free aerial view of Shibuya in the lounge next to the restaurant. I definitely don't recommend coming on a Saturday or Sunday. Weekdays are your best bet. Unlike most shops in Japan payment is done at the table.

Went here for a simple birthday celebration. The environment was nice and the food portion was just good enough for us. We ordered the Arabian Lunch Course, Arabian Lamb Burger, Iskender Plate, and Kunafa. You can ask them to cut the burger in half. The taste was good. The rice was a bit dry for us though. Although the dishes are a bit pricey, the best thing is all of them are halal :D

Portion is pretty good if you get the lunch course but that’ll set you back close to ¥5,000. Otherwise very high quality ingredients and cooking. This kind of cuisine (Arabic?) is rare to find in Japan. The decor is also relaxed and a bit gaudy (in a good way!). I recommend to try it and go all in with the lunch course since it’s a very nice sample. It’s a bit pricey and slow to become a regular though.
