Real Thai cooks. Really nice, friendly staff. Amazing range of dishes. Live music every one in a while. Their weekday lunch set is amazing value. I have dreams about their "coconut plate".

Really good thai food but a bit overpriced. The pakuchi/coriander omelette was amazing. Nice atmosphere especially the outdoor seating area. There’s also a happy hour with decent drink deals until 7 I think. The drink menu has unique south East Asian cocktails and liquors as well.

The place is relaxing and hip. The food is not as spicy as what is served in Thai to accomodate the local palette. Service is quick And price is abit on the high end but reasonable considered the location and ambiance.

Food: very average taste. Desserts were completely disasters. Not worth the waiting time.

Updated at 20th April 2019 Visited again. Very crowded during weekend lunch time. The interior are cute and air are relax. Ordered Sausage, Phad Thai, Hot Thai Soy Souce Noodles, and Fried Spicy KangKong. All dishes are really good! — I ordered lunch set. It is yummy! But not so authentic. Maybe try other dishes next time.

Gapao Rice ???? @amritashokudou The best gapao in Kichijoji just got better! Amrita Shokudo is well known as the longest running Thai restaurant in the area and just celebrated its 19th anniversary on 13th November. Congratulations! ?? Located in the area behind Tokyu department store, Amrita has a lot of floor space with both indoor seating & outdoor terrace area, meaning that table turnaround is usually quite quick, even during busy times. ⏱ When I visited on Saturday lunchtime, the kitchen had 6 Thai cooks working at full speed, plus at least 5 floor staff too. This means that after ordering, it doesn't take long for your food to arrive. ??‍♀️? Starting with a Pakchi Salad - I love the combinations of individual and powerful textures - sliced raw onion, pakchi stems & leaves, spicy sauce & generous topping of chopped peanuts. ? Delicious! ? Amrita's Gapao now comes with Thai black rice mixed with jasmine rice. Compared to white rice, it contains more minerals, B vitamins, fibre as well as anthocyanins which are said to be good for anti-aging! ??‍⚕️ The unique fragrance & spiciness of this dish comes from the holy basil (from Thailand) which Eg-san (the big Mama head cook) insists on using for this dish. Combined with garlic, chili, fried pork & other sauces, this produces a rich, deep flavour. ? As with most gapao, there is a fried egg on top of the meat. The creaminess of the slightly runny egg yolk mellows out the strong, spicy flavour of the stir-fry and that's why it's such a great dish! ? I have been dining at Amrita Shokudo since my Japanese friend took me there many years ago and highly recommend it to all lovers of Thai food! ?? The staff are all super nice and show warm hospitality.
