On a freezing midwinter day, having hot wine ?, 4 kinds of authentic appetizers, roasted chicken, and stewed cheek meat warmed my body and soul. The undecorated interior and the unpretentious chef's reception reminded me of a shop on the back streets of Paris. I feel happy that there is such a nice shop nearby.

Since I was traveling, I got excited and had a dinner recommended by the chef. The appetizer, main shrimp, stewed beef cheeks in red wine, homemade bread and dessert, Heartland and red wine were all really delicious. If you come to Kyoto again, I will definitely stop by.

The beef cheek and pan fried fish for main are worth it. And to note, I'd keep coming back for the amazing freshly baked sesame seed and cranberry bread. Yum! From a frequent traveller's opinion, this is a must try even if it doesn't serve traditional Japanese food. Don't miss this if you're in Kyoto.
