古	古林太加志 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Covid-19の為休館でした。屋上のさつきは満開でした。別子銅山記念館では屋根の上にさつきを植えています。記念館はCovid-19(新型コロナ)のため閉館となっていましたが、屋根上のさつきは観賞出来ます。5月末頃が見頃でした。もう暫くは私達の眼を楽しませてくれるようです。 It was closed due to Covid-19. 田	田中信宏 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 銅山の開発に関わった住友グループがその歴史のすべてを記録に残すために作った資料館ですね。これだけのものを無料で公開するのは、維持費もかかるのに大変だと思います。外からは山の斜面に隠れていて全く存在を感じさせないのですが、中は隅から隅まで丁寧に作られていて、見応え十分です。館内が撮影禁止なのは残念ですけれどね。駐車場は神社の鳥居の下にあります。建物の外には、開発で使われた蒸気機関車も展示されています。 It's a museum created by the Sumitomo Group, which was involved in the development of the copper mine, to keep a record of its entire history. A	Aki Yoshi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 入館無料で住友財閥の基礎となった別子銅山に関する展示があります。 1690年（元禄3年）翌1691年に開坑、1973年（昭和48年）に閉山するまで280年にわたり銅が採掘され、開山時は海抜1200ｍだったのが閉山時には海抜マイナス1000ｍまで掘り進められたそうです。炭鉱とは違い、需要やコストの問題ではなく、280年掘り進められたため、地熱や地圧に坑道が耐えられず安全が維持できずに閉山を余儀なくされたそうです。観光地としてはマイントピア別子がメジャーですが、あちらは坑道の現場体験できる、こどもにもわかりやすい展示になっていますが、こちらは博物館と同じような大人向けの展示です。中学生以上が対象だと思います。展示は住友グループに関するもの、別子銅山に関する物、鉱石そのものに関する物、別子銅山と地域の関わり、といったようなブロックにわかれて展示されています。館内は写真撮影禁止です。所要時間はくまなく見て1時間程度だと思います。このような展示を無料で拝観させていただけるのは非常に有り難いです。建物の外には神社と鉱山で活躍した機関車や貨車が展示されています。駐車場は10台程度とキャパがないため、休日は混雑するかもしれません。ちなみにマイントピア別子からは3kmほど離れているため、歩いて往復するには厳しい距離です。 There is an exhibition about the Besshi Copper Mine, which was the basis of the Sumitomo Zaibatsu for free admission. By the way, it is a tough distance to walk back and forth because it is about 3km away from Minetopia Beshiko.
