T	Tess M on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great alternative to a Tsumago ryokan if it’s fully booked. In fact, I think the isolation of Tokonamiso may make it preferential. As other reviewers have said, the meal service, shuttle bus and facilities of Fuki no mori are included at the very reasonable Tokonamiso rate, and comfort levels not really compromised.

You have to walk two minutes to the building where the onsen is, but otherwise it's perfect, beautifully adorned with wood, several baths, including gorgeous outdoor bath where you can watch the autumn leaves fall. The water made my skin very soft. The hotel shuttle can take you to Tsumago in the morning, from where you can walk to Magome, or to Nagiso train station.

Access to those baths is still included in your stay, all you have to do is cross the parking lot. Either way, really comfortable stay, soft yukata to wear, and good amenities. Free coffee and tea in the lobby and a common fridge and microwave.
