Quality knives and staff are able to communicate in English and friendly. But inefficient tax refund. 2% handling charges for 8% tax refund. All the knife you bought, the boxes are not included you need to pay extra for the boxes.

Impeccable knife quality. Customer service is second to none. Not one, but ALL staff spoke perfect English and Japanese upon visiting. Overall a very positive experience and I am amazed at the quality of their layered steel knives.

Great knife and cutlery store, the guys were super helpful in explaining the differences in metals and blades and style of cutting, in english, so that we fully understood exactly what are options were. The store is setup as a workshop which immediately got me through the door, once inside its a bit of a museum, there are lots of different styles of blades on display. I recommend stopping in even if you are just interested in Japanese blade culture and history. The blades are top notch, I'll be going back.

Best knives in town and best service. Crafted for hundreds of years, they know their business and they share it with you. In the much crowded Tsikuju fish market, where a lot of tourists get ripped off, this store is an oasis of seriousness and friendliness. They do not get tired of explaining their products and show you everything you need for example how to sharpen a knife with one of their stones. They don't want to make the sell at all costs, but they want you to find out what knife you need in the category you choose to afford. We bought three knives and left the store super happy and thankful.

If you are looking for a knife in Tokyo go to this place. The knives are beautiful, sharp as can be and of extreme quality. The staff is incredibly friendly knowledgeable and understanding (If you don’t like the knife they bring you after you choose one you can tell them and they’ll bring you another). Some reviews on here state that the knifes are not nice and they have holes in them, well no one is telling you to buy the ones that have deficiencies. Tell the kind sir to change it for you and he will bring you another one. You can repeat this until you are pleased with the knife.

Got V10 Japanese style petty knife. Extra for cover and need 15 minutes for sharp edges. Well speak English. Excellent knives knowledgeable. Exceptional services.

One year ago, I bought a Kiritsuke knife there (kind of all purpose knife but with better handling vs. Santoku or Gyuto). A beautiful piece of handcraft and very useful (became our most used knife). I recommend buying the appropriate wetstones for keeping the knife at its utmost level. Staff is very freindly, patient and speaks English. I am just waiting to be able to travel back to Tokyo and complete my collection of knives.
