宮	宮本康弘 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 城山頂上(375m)の本丸から東南に700mの間に多くの消平地(曲輪跡)、空堀、土塁、井戸、が残っている。これが西長尾城跡(国吉城跡)で応安元年(1363年)北朝方の海崎元高が入城し長尾大隅守と称してから８代220年の拠城で有った。長尾氏は鵜足郡、那珂郡の南部を支配し細川管領家の家臣として応仁の乱や畿内の戦いにも出陣した。天正七年(1579年)四月長尾高親は長曽我部元親と戦い敗れ開城した。元親は西長尾城を補強し国吉甚左衛門を将とする土佐軍を入れ長尾氏の将兵を先陣として東讃岐に侵入し、これを征服したが天正十年(1585年)六月、元親はこの城に伊予、讃岐の大軍を集め豊臣軍を迎え撃とうとしたが阿波での戦いに敗れ秀吉に降伏し西長尾城は廃城と成った。 A lot of flat land (Kuruwa trace), empty moat, earthworks, and wells remain between the main enclosure of the summit of Shiroyama (375m) and 700m to the southeast. 安	安部清成 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ この西長尾城跡は、香川県仲多度郡満濃町長尾に位置します。ここへは、県道１９５号丸亀岡田線の綾歌森林公園駐車場に車を駐車してから上がって行くのが良い!ここは標高１５０Mほどあり、城山(375m)へは３０分位で行くことが出来る。この道は猫山(467m)､大高見峰(504m)方面への登山､ウォーキングコ−スにもなっている!西長尾城は、南北朝時代から戦国時代末期までに、長尾大隅守が居城した詰城であつた。土佐の長宗我部元親に攻められ、和解するまで、２４０年間統治した山城である。その後は長宗我部元親の重臣である国吉甚左衛門が入城し、東側に曲輪を広げ、国吉城と呼ばれた。しかし、間もなく、長宗我部元親は､豊臣秀吉軍に降りてこの城も廃城となったのである! l	lo ho on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 登城口にある案内板が秀逸です。イラストタッチだと不正確なものも多いですが、分かり易かったです。登城口付近に竪堀、堀切あり、その後は連郭式郭が続きます。本丸北側を7,8段程度の細長い連郭式の郭の2列で固めていて、珍しいと思いました。丸亀辺りを中心に讃岐平野が一望でき、瀬戸内海、金比羅山も望めます。東側は細長い郭で、本丸の南東側から急坂を降りれます。林道で削られていますが、土塁、二重堀切などが見られます。 The information board at the entrance to the castle is excellent. I thought it was unusual because the north side of the main enclosure was solidified with two rows of long and narrow continuous-walled walls with about 7 or 8 steps. 亜	亜手留為 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 登山道や頂上付近は、整備されています。肝心な城跡遺構は殆ど整備されてない歩いて登る最中、大きな物音が麓のレオマワールドから聞こえてくる周りに高い建物もないから頂上から讃岐富士や瀬戸内海が一望出来る気軽に山登り出来る高さなので、ビギナー向けでも楽しめるスポットだと思います。 The mountain trails and the vicinity of the summit are well maintained.
