★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 入口の案内版から引用しましょう。「長承元年（1132）大掾氏の家臣鈴木五郎高郷が築城したと云われる。その後、貞治元年（1362）十代佐竹義篤は、四男義孝を大山村に封じた。義孝は城を再構築、地名をとって大山氏と称し、大山氏の祖となった。以後、九代二百三十余間にわたって居城とした。文禄四年（1595）九代大山義則の時、佐竹領内知行替えで小高城（行方市小高）へ移り、大山城は廃された。城里町教育委員会」延徳2(1490）年の山入の乱で太田城を追われた佐竹宗家の十五代義舜は母方の大山氏を頼り、西方約1.5キロにある孫根城に匿われ、後、金砂山城に移って、ついに太田城を奪還し、佐竹氏中興の祖と呼ばれることとなる・・・のは、また別な話です。
さて、くだんの案内版の後ろから大山城跡（現在は「ホテル大山城）のある高台へ上っていくと、愛宕神社の祠がありました。この辺りが主郭ですが、藪に覆われています。北側のホテル大山城の敷地が二郭でありましょうが、藪漕ぎをしなくては直接行けません。

After that, Yoshiatsu Satake, a teenager in the first year of Joji (1362), sealed the fourth son Yoshitaka in Oyama Village. It was rebuilt and named after the place, and became the ancestor of Mr. Oyama. After that, it became a castle for more than 230 in the 9th generation. Oyama Castle was abolished after moving to Odaka Castle (Odaka, whereabouts city) due to a change of knowledge in the territory. Yoshifumi Godai relied on his mother, Mr. Oyama, and was concealed in Sonone Castle, which is about 1.5 km west.・ ・ Is another story.
By the way, when I went up to the hill where the ruins of Oyama Castle (currently "Hotel Oyama Castle") are located from behind the guide version of Kudan, there was a shrine of Atago Shrine. The site of Hotel Oyama Castle on the north side may be two blocks, but you can't go directly without rowing the bushes.
