It is good for taking pictures and walking around reminiscent of the game Animal Forest. If you are traveling from Osaka to Tottori, it is not bad to stop by.

The Shidozaka Tunnel, which is the longest on the Chizu Express Line that crosses the prefectural border between Okayama and Tottori prefectures, is also nearby.
t	taro mame on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 駅前には温泉宿の案内があるのだが智頭急行を利用して来る観光客がいないのか送迎に関するものが何もなかった。「あわくら温泉」と名付けられた上は駅設備に期待したのだが…せめてここ位は観光案内所を置いてもと思うのだけど。駅前に酒屋があって飲み物は手に入れる事は可能。 There was a guide to a hot spring inn in front of the station, but there was nothing related to transportation, probably because there were no tourists using the Chito Express. I expected the station facilities to be named "Awakura Onsen", but at least I think it would be nice to have a tourist information center here. There is a liquor store in front of the station where you can get drinks.
