★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Atomic Bomb Dome at Hiroshima
6 August 1945, is the anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, Japan. In 1945, the first atomic bomb detonated over Hiroshima, killing between 90,000 and 146,000.
Only a badly destructed building known as the atomic bomb dome remained at the bombed site to remind the survivors and people of today who did not have to go through the pain and suffering, whether physical or emotional, brought by advancement of weaponry.
Wars are cruel and ugly, and yet many people in power still choose wars as an option to settle differences. Despite many may be killed by bombs like that dropped in Hiroshima, the number of victims, alive or dead, is just a number which does not convey the indescribable sorrow nor describe the scare tugged away somewhere in the brain.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Standing at the side of the Atomic bomb dome were on August 6th 1945 an Atomic Bomb exploded , I could not stop thinking of all those lives lost. Very sad indeed.
Some where in the book "Art of war" there is the mention of the word "Honor". But when the A-bomb was used, where was the honor.
However, Hiroshima has risen from the ashes and is now a great city once again. That's why I have given it a 5 star.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Hiroshima Peace Memorial commonly called the Genbaku Dome, Atomic Bomb Dome or A-Bomb Dome, is part of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima, Japan and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. The ruin of the hall serves as a memorial to the over 140,000 people who were killed in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima at the end of World War II. It is permanently kept in a state of arrested ruin as a reminder of the destructive effects of nuclear warfare.
At 8:15 a.m. on 6 August 1945, the first atomic bomb to be used in war was dropped by the United States Army Air Forces from the Enola Gay, a B-29 bomber. The force of the atomic bomb effectively obliterated the city of Hiroshima, Japan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must stop if your are visiting Hiroshima. One of the only buildings left standing after the atomic bomb was dropped and you can see the morphed steel beams from the blast. I went back in April 2021 and there were survivors telling there traumatic experiences growing up after the bomb was dropped. One local man was so friendly he walked me around the rest of the park and nearby exhibits as a guide. I was so humbled by his welcoming and friendly personality. We can't let anything like this ever happen again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must visit place in Hiroshima. It was known as the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall before the bombing happened. Visiting this place will touch your heart to that pain from the incident and humbles you down seeing the damage of the entire building. And now this has became a representation people's prayers for a lasting peace.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The perfect mix of history, culture, and nature.
(+) The actual dome is blocked off (no entry), but you can see a lot of the structure from the gates.
(+) The dome is lit up at night, so it's nice to see in the evening as well.
(+) It's a beautiful place to visit in all 4 seasons.
(+) Often, there are volunteers there who will teach tourists more about the history of the atomic bomb and people survival stories. It can be quite impactful and personal.
(+) The area around and across the dome is beautiful and peaceful.
