★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A few weeks back I had my hair done at the Harajuku Branch by Yuki-san and Hiroshi-san. I got my hair cut short and dyed ombre red at the ends.
Before starting Yuki-san carefully listened to my requests and made suggestions based on the images I showed him.
As my hair is naturally curly, I was a bit worried about having my hair cut in Japan, but Yuki-san was fantastic. Before he started cutting my hair, he carefully observed how my hair naturally curls and took that into consideration while cutting my hair. I’ve never had a hair dresser put that much thought and care into my hair before.
Hiroshi-san washed my hair and applied the bleach/ hair dye etc. Both him and Yuki-san were lovely and made for a great hair salon experience.
If you have curly hair, I definitely recommend Yuki-san!! I shall be going back at some point in the future, and hope to have both Yuki-san and Hiroshi-san do my hair again.
((It’s now been 2 weeks since I had my hair done and the colour still looks amazing. Definitely the best hair salon experience I’ve had.))

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was really nervous about getting my hair permanently straightened because I know it’s a long process and also because I have so much hair. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by Yuki and his team members. I’ve never felt more at home in an unfamiliar place. The process took almost 3.5 hours including a hair cut (keep in mind my hair is long). Yuki is the best hairdresser I’ve ever had. He really knows how to work with hair and I’m beyond happy at how it turned out. Though I live in the United States and won’t be able to have him as my hairdresser permanently, I highly recommend him to anyone looking to get a haircut and a Japanese hair straightening perm. He even allowed me to add him on IG so I can ask him any questions. (Sidenote: I was grateful he spoke English).
In terms of the location, Assort studio was beautiful. The furniture was cohesive with the space and it just went together so well. It wasn’t too confusing to find and I felt like it was a good location. Also I feel like the price was extremely fair for the amount of work they did to my hair.
Overall Yuki, with the help of Yuriko completely turned my vision into a reality. I can’t recommend this place enough!

I have really thin hair and often don't really know what to ask for or how to explain but Shinobu understood quickly and cut my hair really well in a way that made me feel comfortable!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My stylist, Sachiko Handa, is pretty fluent in conversations despite her English level listed as being 'intermediate'. I brought some pictures of the hairstyle that I like, and with a little bit of consultation revolving around my life style, she managed to gave me my perfect dream style! One of the quickest salon trip I've ever made, despite involving some perming, sparkling water treatment, and styling. Love the ambiance and how everyone is helping each other around the salon. Definitely will be back whenever I'm in Tokyo!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Accompanying my husband getting his hair cut so I can’t speak for the experience there, but the complimentary drinks, English-speaking friendly staff, upbeat music and outlets to plug in during the wait make it all a pleasant experience. I see the staff putting in great care to coloring, cutting and shampooing. The multilingual conversations make the atmosphere cool and contemporary.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to Assort today wanting pink hair, but I really didn't know how I wanted it done. Originally, my hair was blonde and hadn't been cut in a year and hadn't been dyed in 4+. I had my hair done by Shinobu. She helped me decide what shade of pink would work well with my skin tone and helped me pick how to dye it. She did an amazing job! I will continue to go to assort (and Shinobu) to maintain my hair ?
I am not so great at taking photos, but there are some lovely light pink highlights! My hair is so soft and has so much depth in color now!
