浅川西条鰻沢817-1にあり、下方の集落に入った瞬間から籠塚の案内板が角々随所に出ていますので迷わず目的地に行けます。山腹の比較的平坦な斜面にある円墳ですが、珍しく単独墳です。中規模の横穴式石室を有し、長野県史資料によると、長7.0幅3.0高さ5.0とありますが、現在崩落の危険があるそうでトラロープにより立ち入りが制限されており石室内部が確認できず、高さ5mというのの信憑性が確認出来ませんでした。
