★ ★ ★ ★ ★ :-/ If you live in an Asian country where steamed buns (包)are common, Horai will be disappointing. Don't deny that it's interesting, the dough is more yeasty and savoury than normal...but the texture and the meat filling are both pretty bad, tasted very floury. Try only if you have to satisfy your curiosity!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tasted the famous nikuman, maybe I have had my hope too high but it was just so so. The filling is definitely different from normal ones, worth a try but I won't come back one again.
Their potato sold outside was also good, but quite pricey. Again, worth a try while waiting in line for takoyaki sold in the shop opposite!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I only ate the bun, it's not expensive (¥400 for 2 buns) but very delicious! I should have tried the siomay as well. They have the restaurant upstair as well, looks nice. Anyway, it's a nice place to have a delicious snack with reasonable price!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Steamed pork bun and steamed char siu buns in the old style yeast raised dough. Bouncy and toothsome buns, generous filling and balanced flavour (sweet but not too sweet, savoury but not too salty, fragrant but not over seasoned with Chinese wine and sesame oil and white pepper). Worth stopping !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On the ground floor is the take out counter which sells varieties of Shu mai and steamed dumplings. The restaurant upstairs offers a variety of Chinese dishes which are quite reasonably priced, though not quite authentic Chinese.
It’s quite popular with locals and tourists alike, and so it can be quite crowded. However, I’ve never had to wait for a table before.
