The stone monument and the objects are a little, so it may be a little unsatisfactory. I think that it will be better understood if you look at the signboard on the old Koshu Kaido on the slope on the east side of Shibasaki Citizen Gymnasium.
M	Masahiko Motono on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 明治時代の地形図を見ると当時の多摩川の流路は現在よりも少し南にあり、渡船場もここよりも300m程南にあったようです。渡船は日野宿の管理でした。現在の立日橋のたもとから南の甲州街道に至る道路が旧甲州街道で、日野の渡しと日野宿を結んでいました。 Looking at the topographic map of the Meiji era, it seems that the flow path of the Tama River at that time was a little south of the present, and the ferry port was about 300 m south of here. The ferry was managed by Hino-juku. The road from the base of the current Tappi Bridge to the Koshu Kaido in the south was the former Koshu Kaido, which connected Hino no Watari and Hino-juku.

す	すし on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 立川市錦町下水処理場の片隅、旧甲州街道沿いにある多摩川立川市側の渡し舟の石碑です。かつて信濃甲斐相模に行く人々は、この渡しを過ぎると遠く異境の地へ来たと思い、逆からは江戸に着いたと思ったそうです。道を挟んで向かいに馬頭観音石碑があります。 It is a stone monument of a ferry boat on the Tachikawa City side of the Tama River along the Kyu Koshu Kaido, in a corner of the Nishikicho Sewage Treatment Plant in Tachikawa City. People who went to Shinano Kai Sagami once thought that they had come to a different place far away after this passing, and from the opposite, they thought that they had arrived in Edo. There is a Hayagriva stone monument across the road.
