今後の工事の進捗が興味深い所で有ります。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 高度経済成長期に、高蔵寺大団地が造成されたので、利用者が激増した歴史があります。
現在でも、利用者は多く名古屋のベッドタウンの高蔵寺団地の人々の最寄り駅として役目を果たしている駅です。
JR中央本線(西線)の途中駅で、中央本線の他に第３セクターの愛知環状鉄道が乗り入れています。
愛知環状鉄道線には、JRの快速列車がこの駅から、直通列車がラッシュ時に走ってます。

バスの利便性に問題があるのか自家用車の送迎が多い
そのためか利用者数の割には
活気がなく、ただ乗り降りするだけの駅という感じバスターミナル側にはスーパーなどの商業施設もなく古そうな駐輪場と噴水が枯渇した公園広場があるくらいで非常に殺風景
高蔵寺ニュータウンの玄関口のような側ではあるが、地形的な問題か人の流れが自動車やバスに限られるため広い道路や高低差で街並みの連続性が完全に断たれており、一体感のようなものは全く感じられない。
もう一方の側は開発が進み人口増加する志段味方面からの利用客も増えており、いくつかのコンビニ、飲食店もあるのでまあまあの活気を見せている。志多見方面の開発が著しく、歩行者も多いので名古屋方面との一体感のある成長が期待できる。名古屋市の交通機関も乗り入れている。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 愛知環状線始発駅。東谷山フルーツパーク、しだみ古墳ミュージアム、定光寺公園などカメラマンにとっては被写体のコストパフォーマンスがイイし駅周辺は美味い飲食店が多い。 ヤマダ電機と三星カメラがあるので電化製品とカメラアクセサリーのチェックにもなる。 将棋の神童そうた君御用達の駅でもある。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 愛知環状線終点駅。近くにファミリーマートが有るので銀行からキャッシュを卸せる。周辺には様々な飲食店があり休む場所に困らない。カメラマンにとっては、定光寺への乗り換え駅でもあり、カメラの三星カメラやヤマダ電機があり、都合が良過ぎる場所で必ずチェックする。東谷山フルーツパークが1.7km先にある。

ゆうちょ銀行のatmが撤去されたことは残念ですが仕方ないことかと思います。
バスに関しては主に北口ですが木附西行きとはあとふるライナー、ゆとりーとラインは南口発着のようです。
jr中央線と愛知環状鉄道に乗り換えできる駅です。
