★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 本丸の南南西の平地。戊辰戦争での「少年隊の丘」と呼ばれる地が、畠山一族である新城弾正心安斎の館跡とされている。この平地の南端には畠山満泰が二本松城築城の際に、城の守りのために夫婦の赤牛を生贄として生き埋めにしたところ、その霊は天に上り、その身は石と化したという。
この二つの大石には、それぞれの外側に銅板がはられ、高村光太郎の詩が刻まれている。一方には「樹下の二人」の一節が、他方には「あどけない話」の一節が彫られている。
 The flat land south-southwest of the main enclosure. The place called "Shonentai no Oka" in the Boshin War is said to be the site of the Hatakeyama clan, Shinshiro Danshoshin Anzai. At the southern end of this flat land, when Mitsuyasu Hatakeyama built Nihonmatsu Castle, he buried the couple's red cow as a sacrifice to protect the castle, and the spirit went up to heaven and turned into a stone. ..
A copper plate is attached to the outside of each of these two large stones, and Kotaro Takamura's poem is engraved on them. One is engraved with a passage of "Two Under Trees" and the other is engraved with a passage of "Innocent Story".
