It is a shell mound designated by Aichi prefecture in the forest around Shinmeisha in Ikawatsugo. I thought I'd explore it, but I didn't like it when it rained heavily and snakes appeared, so I gave up ?.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 標高2メートルの礫堆上に有り、東西約180ｍ・
南北60ｍの半円形。
アサリなどが主な貝塚との事。
1903年に報告され、後に多くの学者によって発掘調査。
200体弱の人骨が出土したそうです。
食人風習も有ったとか。
そして、抜歯風習を示す人骨も見つかっています。
2000年代農業集落排水工事時に人骨を14体、
イヌ25体が出土したそうです。

The main shell mounds are clams.
Reported in 1903 and later excavated by many scholars.
It seems that a little less than 200 human bones have been excavated.
There was also a cannibalistic custom.
And human bones showing tooth extraction customs have also been found.
