★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 常磐自動車道建設の際に発掘された、古墳時代初期の金属製武器の製鉄所と推測される遺跡。
大和朝廷が本州全土を支配する以前、ここ常陸国は、東北占領の為の重要な中継拠点と考えられており、この鹿の子で武器の修理、製造を行っていたと推測されています。
現在特にこれと言った遺構は見つからなく、ただ案内板があるのみです。
しかし、常陸風土記の丘の有料展示施設ではこの鹿の子遺跡の展示をされております。ボランティアの方から詳しく伺う事が出来ます。
 The ruins, which were excavated during the construction of the Joban Expressway, are presumed to be steelworks for metal weapons in the early Kofun period.
Before the Yamato Imperial Court ruled the whole of Honshu, Hitachinokuchi was considered to be an important relay station for the Tohoku occupation, and it is speculated that this Kanoko repaired and manufactured weapons.
Currently, I haven't found any such remains, only the information boards.
However, at the paid exhibition facility on the Hitachi Fudoki hill, the Kanoko site is on display. You can ask in detail from volunteers.
