★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 王墓山古墳は楯築遺跡とは離れているが王墓の丘史跡公園として管理されている。考えてみれば間に住宅街が出来ており、開発で多くの貴重な遺跡が破壊されてしまった事だろう。吉備の政権を代表するような楯築遺跡と関連する遺跡が開発中にしっかり調査出来ていたのか疑問だ！
Wang Tomb Mountain Tumulus is managed as King Tomb Hill Historic Site Park, although it is far from Kitsuki Site. If you think about it, there is a residential area in between, and many precious ruins have been destroyed by development. I am wondering if the remains of Kitsuki and related sites that represent the Kibi administration were being investigated thoroughly during development!

Yen mound or square mound. A good house-shaped sarcophagus is preserved, and the inside can be seen from the damaged part.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ おそらく１００基以上の石室があるエリアだが、昭和４０年代の高度経済成長期に宅地開発され、多くは未調査のまま放置されている。石室の天井石は、近隣城郭の石垣に転用されたのでしょう。１～６世紀まで海岸線ががかなり内陸まで来ていたのでこの辺りに古墳群が多いのではないか。
It is probably an area with more than 100 stone chambers, but residential land was developed during the period of high economic growth in the 1965s, and many have been left uninvestigated. The ceiling stones in the stone chamber may have been diverted to the stone walls of the neighboring castle. Since the coastline was quite inland from the 1st to 6th centuries, there may be many ancient burial mounds around here.
