★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 仙台市登録文化財。輪王寺は，伊達氏十一世伊達持宗によって嘉吉元年（1441），伊達郡梁川（福島県梁川町）に創建され，伊達氏に従って仙台の地に移ってきた。現在地に移ったのは慶長7年（1602）。御一門格寺院として大伽藍を形成した。元禄4年（1691）仙台藩四代藩主伊達綱村により仏殿，客殿などが整備され，この山門はこの時に建立されたものと見られる。明治9年（1876）の北山大火ではこの山門だけが焼け残った。三間一戸の八脚門（はっきゃくもん）で，切妻造本瓦葺，素木造である。12本の柱はいずれも円柱で，棟の左右に鯱が載り，前面左右に仁王が配されている。江戸時代中期の堅実な手法を伝えている門である。
 Sendai City registered cultural property. Rinnoji Temple was founded in Yanagawa, Date District (Yanagawa Town, Fukushima Prefecture) in the first year of Kakitsu (1441) by the 11th Date Mochimune, and moved to Sendai according to Date. It was in the 7th year of Keicho (1602) that he moved to his present location. It formed a large cathedral as a temple of the Goichimon. In the 4th year of Genroku (1691), the Buddhist temple and guest hall were constructed by Date Tsunamura, the fourth feudal lord of the Sendai domain, and it is believed that this mountain gate was erected at this time. In the Great Fire of Kitayama in 1876, only this gate was left unburned. It is an eight-legged gate of Sanma Ichinohe, and is made of gabled book tiles and bare wood. All 12 pillars are columns, with shachi on the left and right sides of the ridge, and Nioh on the left and right sides of the front. It is a gate that conveys a solid method in the middle of the Edo period.
