酒田は繁盛の土地ゆえ士風を損ねるとして、鶴岡が藩主酒井家に城地として選ばれたとか。
山居倉庫にほど近く、なるほど繁盛の地であるなと思いました。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ それなりの高さの土塁が遺構として残っている。完全に学校の敷地に取り込まれてしまっているが酒井家の水城のありし日を僅かながら留めているのは感慨深い。
