It's about a 5 minute walk from Kamishinjo Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Main Line. It is a temple with a snow whale bridge that is said to be made of whale bones. There is a park next to it, and the entrance is not so noticeable. The inside seems to be unattended, and you can visit the bridge and visit it 24 hours a day.

I went to Kamishinjo because I had a need. On the way back, I noticed Zuikou-ji Temple. The place name is Zuiko Ichome, so I stopped by. It is difficult to understand because the park is adjacent, but it is not so difficult to reach the precincts. I was interested because my sect is also Rinzai sect. What surprised me when I entered was that there was a bridge made of whalebone. I heard it from my knowledge, but I didn't know this temple. It was also a weekday, and the precincts were quiet and there were no worshipers. It is on the north side of the pier of the Shinkansen. From the east exit of Kamishinjo Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line, walk along the pier of the Shinkansen for about 5 to 10 minutes.

We visited Zuikoji Temple, which is famous for the Setsugei Bridge, a bridge whose balustrade is made of whale bones. When the Zen master of this temple once stopped by Taijiura in Wakayama, a local fisherman who was suffering from poor whale fishing asked for a good catch and prayed for it. that's right. At first, the Zen master kept refusing whale fishing because it would lead to killing, but in the end he accepted the plea of the fishermen, so he built a bridge with the whale bones he received for the whale memorial service. That's right. It's been 10 years since I was in the 5th grade of elementary school, and I haven't seen Setsugei Bridge since then. Playing baseball at Zuiko Park, which is right next to the temple, and going to the public pool, which seems to be missing now, revived the nostalgic memories of those days.

A very unique hidden pearl in Higashi Yodogawa Zuiko area. Impressive. I loved it. The fact that the gate and bridge are made of whale bone is even more spectacular. Never seen anything like it.
