小	小池正彦 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 数十年ぶりに訪問したが、綺麗に整備されていてビックリ！これは、平成11年に柏崎市により整備されたためのようだ。「柏崎の水」によれば、不動明王像は4体あると記載されているが、3体しか確認出来なかった。滝右手の不動明王像は半分土砂に埋もれてしまっていた。白蛇の像も岩をくり抜いた穴に祀られているが、謂れはどこにも書かれておらず不明。また、古い写真は、図書館所蔵の「小竹コレクション」からコピーしたもの。八石山にはいくつかの滝があるが、その中で最大のものが善根の不動滝である。この場所は避暑地として賑い、初夏の滝開きの日には、近隣の子ども達はもちろん、遠くは柏崎町からも多くの人が集まった。大正時代には滝壷付近が八石公園として整備され、「養老亭」「傘亭」といった茶屋がでていたという。信仰の対象でもあった不動滝の周囲には、いくつもの石仏や碑が建っている。なかでも不動明王像は、滝壷付近と遊歩道に計4体が祀られている。滝壷向かって左の不動明王像は、佐之久出身で明治時代に活躍した力士柏戸が寄進したものとしてよく知られ、その台座には「第八代柏戸明治十六年八月建立」などと刻まれている。遊歩道にある不動明王像は、もともと八石登山道の入口に建っていたものである。 I visited for the first time in decades, but I was surprised that it was in good condition! In the Taisho era, the area around the waterfall basin was maintained as Hachikoku Park, and there were teahouses such as "Yorotei" and "Kasatei". A number of stone Buddha statues and monuments are built around Fudo Waterfall, which was also the object of worship. Among them, a total of four statues of Fudo Myo are enshrined near the waterfall basin and on the promenade. The statue of Fudo Myo on the left of the waterfall is well known as a donation by Kashiwado, a sumo wrestler from Sanohisa who was active in the Meiji era. The pedestal says, "The 8th Kashiwado was built in August, 1887." It is carved. The statue of Fudo Myo on the promenade was originally built at the entrance of the Yashiki mountain trail.
