★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 山口湯前神社（やまぐちゆぜんじんじゃ）
温泉は病気や怪我を癒す不思議な水として利用され、その不思議な力は古くから信仰の対象にされてきました。
やがて仏教が普及すると、医療の神である薬師如来の信仰が盛んに行われ、各温泉地で祀られるようになりました。
四万温泉も薬師如来を祀ったお堂が各地区にあります。
今でも四万温泉秋季大祭として、毎年十月各地区の薬師如来を祀るお祭りが開催されています。

湯前神社は温泉の守護神で、更に薬師を温泉明神として祀っています。
四万温泉には湯前神社が五社ありそれぞれ薬師明神や薬師神社、薬師堂などが祭られています。
山口地区の薬師明神

温泉薬師神社の創建は江戸時代中期の宝暦年間（1751～1763）に江戸屋幸助によって開かれたと言われています。
「香茶房おきなや」の前の細い上り坂を登り、「鍾寿館」の渡り廊下の下を通ると参道石段の左手に稲荷神社があります。
石段を登りきると、湯前神社境内です。

Yunomae shrine is a guardian of the hot spring, it has further dedicated to Yakushi as hot spring Myojin.
There are five Yuzen Shrines in Shima Onsen, and the Yakushi Myojin, the Yakushi Shrine, and the Yakushido are each celebrated.

It is said that the foundation of the Onsen Yakushi Shrine was opened by Kosuke Edoya during the Hōryū era (1751 to 1763) in the middle of the Edo period.
After climbing a narrow uphill in front of "Kochabo Okinaya" and passing under the corridor of "Joujukan", Inari Shrine is on the left hand side of the stone steps.
When you turn off climbing the stone steps, is Yunomae Shrine.
