少子化の影響で高校が小田原の高校と合併移転したため、その後に中学校になりました。
高校が新しい学校だったため、建物もまだ築30年といった所。プールなどの設備も良いです。旧湯河原中学校はプラネタリウムのある学校だったので、恐らくそれは今の場所には無いと思います。
海に近く、台風の際には校舎一階まで波しぶきが来ることも。
中学生にはあまり関係ないかもしれませんが、近くにスーパー、家電販売店もあり人通りも賑やか。防犯上はいいかもしれません。まぁ、かなり大きめなパチンコ店もありますがw
(でも、高校の時は目の前にゲーセンとパチンコ店があったのでそれに比べれば...ですが)
