Rice terraces that protect and convey the feelings of our predecessors Since 15 years ago, my husband and wife have been going to [Yotsuya Rice Terraces] every year, changing the seasons. The farm road in the center of the rice terraces is the best for healing and health by going back and forth to the observatory! The first thing that surprised me when I visited was the stone terraces that were piled up in layers, and I was deeply moved by my wife and two people, "A word of beauty." It has a history of 400 years. I was even more surprised to learn that the mountain tsunami caused by the long rains caused a catastrophe in the Meiji era, and it took many years to recover and the hardships and efforts to turn the wasteland into rice fields. As a person who grew up in a rural farmhouse and was involved in the construction industry at that time, he kept his soul in preserving the rice terraces by preserving the technology and the thoughts of his predecessors who brilliantly piled up large stones weighing more than 1 ton in a place without heavy machinery and in poor conditions. I am grateful to the people of the Preservation Society for their hard work. You will notice that the beautiful [Yotsuya Rice Terraces], which changes in the four seasons, is a terraced rice field that is more important to the preservation society. postscript My wife posted Aichi Prefecture [Yotsuya Rice Terraces] on a travel program that goes around Japan by bicycle on a certain TV station. Every time I visit, I remember being surprised and happy to be introduced in the Monday edition.

A place rich in nature and very healing A river that never withers all year round due to the water that springs from Mt. Kurakake You can also see how difficult it is to inherit rice production in rice terraces. There are many plum fields, and it is famous for producing delicious and safe plums.

Rice terraces made of Ishigaki at an altitude of 220m to 420m. A lot of stones are piled up, and the hardships made are alleviated. I visited in December. I was healed in peace. I also want to visit the golden September, the lush season of early summer. There is a parking lot and a simple toilet. The toilet was clean. Thank you ♪

A terraced rice field opened in the mountains of Mikawa's Shinjo City (formerly Horai Town). In this area, the terraced rice fields spread out in a fan-shaped valley, and I think it is a very beautiful terraced rice field. Rice planting was being done after mid-May when I went.

Yotsuya Senmaida Terraced Rice Fields in Shinshiro, Aichi. Terraced rice paddies are known as Senmaida in Japan, or “1,000 Rice Terraces.” Because the land is made of up of steep levels, differing sizes and irregular shapes, modern machinery cannot be used. Field works including planting, reaping and maintenance are all done traditionally by hand, which is incredibly time-consuming and laborious. Most of Japan’s few remaining Senmaida are located in the middle of nowhere with poor accessibility. But the view is very special!
