★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 吉岡東二丁目周辺は約200,000㎡に及ぶ広大な遺跡で、一里塚遺跡と呼びます。 昭和６３年度から平成６年度まで行われた発掘調査では、奈良時代前後の住居跡や生活用具が多数発見されました。 その内、この公園付近では、掘立柱による建物が規則的に並び、門のつく塀で囲まれていたことが分かりました。（東西58.7ｍ・南北54m） また、倉庫と思われる建物建物の柱穴から炭化した米が発見され、その周辺から墨で文字の書かれた食器や硯（土器）が発見されました。
 The area around Yoshioka Higashi 2-chome is a vast archaeological site of about 200,000 m2 and is called the Ichirizuka archaeological site. In the excavation survey conducted from 1988 to 1994, many dwelling traces and living utensils around the Nara period were discovered. Among them, it was found that in the vicinity of this park, buildings with excavated pillars were lined up regularly and surrounded by a fence with a gate. (58.7m east-west, 54m north-south) In addition, carbonized rice was found in the pillar holes of the building, which is thought to be a warehouse, and tableware and inkstones (earthenware) with ink letters were found around it.
