0. No detergent required! The machines will add detergent.
1. Load your clothes in to the big machines on the right side wall. These are combo washers and dryers, so it makes it super easy. Close the door and twist the handle to secure.
2. Select a cycle. Number 1 is big load w/ wash and dry, number 2 is medium load w/ wash and dry, number 3 is small load w/ wash and dry, number 4 is 22kg load wash only, number 5 is 15kg load dry only. I used number 3 as I only had a backpack full of clothes. There's a button below the cycle selection panel which you can hit to stop the machine from adding detergent if you'd prefer to use none or add your own.
3. Put your money in. 100 or 500 yen coins are accepted. There's a change machine if needed.
4. Sit back and wait. It takes about 40 to 60 minutes for a full cycle. You can also enter your cell number (Japanese sim only) and it will call or text you when there's 5 minutes left on the cycle.
