★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 柵原町の町名にもなった柵原鉱山跡です
江戸時代初期に津山城の築城に使用する石垣を調達する際に発見されたとの事です
本格的な採掘が始まったのは明治時代になってからで何度か経営者が代わり平成3年3月の閉鉱まで硫化鉄鉱を採掘し日本の経済産業に多大な貢献をしたそうです
鉱床は広範囲にあり、複数箇所のズリ山、トロッコレール跡、鉱水排水パイプライン、下柵原立坑、柵原坑、一番坑口、休石坑道、等が現在でも当時の遺構として残っています
吉井川沿いの山肌には幾つもの坑道跡がありますがほとんどがコンクリートで完全に封鎖されています
現在でも一部鉱山関連施設は稼働しており採掘、採石が続いていますのでむやみに施設内に立ち入らない方が良いと思います

Full-scale mining began in the Meiji era, and the management changed several times to mine iron sulfide ore until the closure of the mine in March 1991, making a great contribution to the Japanese economy and industry.
The ore deposits are widespread, and multiple slag heaps, trolley rail traces, mineral water drainage pipelines, lower fence original shafts, fence original shafts, first wellheads, resting stone tunnels, etc. still remain as remains at that time.
There are many tunnel traces on the mountain surface along the Yoshii River, but most of them are completely closed with concrete.
Even now, some mining-related facilities are still in operation, and mining and quarrying are continuing, so I think it is better not to enter the facility unnecessarily.
