寅さんのノボリも最近設置されました。

寺伝によれば、花山法皇の開基により寛和2年（968年）原村（現在の備中高梁駅周辺）に創建されたと伝う。2度の火災により衰退するが、慶長5年（1600年）備中代官小堀正次が入国し城下町の整備を行った。これに伴い現在地へ移転され、石垣の築造に着手、二十余年を経た元和10年（1624年）51代院家宥遍の代に完成した。この時造営された庭園は江戸時代初期の密教的庭園として貴重。

According to Teraden, it is said that it was built in Hara 2 years (968) in Haramura (around the current Bicchu Takahashi Station) due to the opening of Hanayama Pope. Although it has declined due to two fires, Seicho Kobori, Deputy Secretary of the Bicchu Deputy Officials (Keicho 5 years (1600)), entered the castle town and maintained it. Along with this, the site was moved to the present location, and the construction of Ishigaki started to be completed. The garden built at this time is valuable as a secular garden in the early Edo period.

普段から整然と管理が行き届いたお庭と、まるで下界との区別をするかの如くそびえる石段も城下町をみおろす素敵なスポットを演出しています。
