Food is cheap but average taste. Good for groups but if busy you might have to wait.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bad manner and service!!! I showed up around 7:30pm today and went inside of this Izakaya for the 1st time. There was plenty of seats but the tall Japanese guy told me to wait 10 minutes and then right away he said 20 and then later 50 minutes, I said okay and went out side and sat on the sofa. He thought I’d leave but when he saw me sitting on the sofa, he came and asked me if I can speak Japanese with really bad tone, I said yes. He said, are you really gonna wait 50 minutes, I said yes again and then he left. He was telling me to leave and I understood. Well I knew I wasn’t welcome and left eventually. But when Japanese people came, he let them in. I usually go to other marukin branch like Shibuya. I am also quite regular and the staffs are really nice and friendly. I am also given their membership card based on my consistency at their bar but this guy at shinjuku branch is really stupid and disrespectful!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I thought this place would be a scam because the prices were too good to believe, but wow, its the real deal. 300 yen per 30 mins all-you-can-drink self serve bar. The food is good, but the yakitori definitely feels too cheap. English menu available

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have never encounter such bad manner waiter at izakaya before! The tall guy waiter is so rude ! The rules mentioned if we’re late 6 mins after the session end, it automatically add 30 mins and will charge us for that 30mins. We wanted to extend after finish the first 90mins, but then he won’t let us to extend ! We wanted to extend 30 mins but he said we must at least extend one hour. This is totally unreasonable! Then, we ask for alacarte alcohol drinks, he don’t let us order ! Obviously he don’t want us to continue staying there as he want to close the shop earlier ! (I think ) That time was only 10:30pm ..not even until the closing time. I hope that tall guy will get his lesson !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you want to drink copius amounts of alcohol ridiculously cheap, this is your place! If not and you can drink 1 per 30 minutes it is still reasonable. Its 299 yen per 30 minutes of self serve beer and spirits with cheap yakitori and other small dishes. The food is average but the drinks make up for it. Highly recommend to start the night!

The price of yakitori is really cheap ranging from 80-90. But yakitori options are limited e.g chicken thigh, skin, gizzard, liver, mince. The garlic dip is amazing. There are other food options like gyoza 400yen
It is all you can drink (about 300 yen per 30 mins) but last order for food is 30 mins before the end. So I suggest ordering as much food at the start as it can take some time for the food to come. Last drink refill is 15 mins before the end. The good thing is that the drinks are self-served so you don't have to wait for the waiters to help you
Taste: 3 star
It's not the most tasty yakitori but certainly reflects the price that you pay. Recommend coming in with stomach half full so you can just snack and enjoy drinks and company!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good place to drink, bad place to eat. No table charge (お通し) when choosing the ¥300 all-you-can-drink (which starts at 1 hour, so ¥600). The Yakitori was not fully cooked and didn't have a grilled taste (which is what Yakitori is all about!). The service was just ok and they have ONE English menu. Having said that, there's a decent selection for making nihonshu-based cocktails, plus beer, plum wine, makori, wine, and maybe some other. Like others said, come here for the drinks!
