About 450 years ago, Date Masamune at the end of the Warring States period first took part in a territorial conflict with Mr. Soma, and the mountain castle "Kanayama Castle" in the territory acquired from Mr. Soma. Until the Meiji Restoration was abandoned, it was said to have existed as the residence of Mr. Nakajima, a vassal of the Date clan of the Sendai domain. It seems that the Date clan had multiple castles in addition to Sendai Aoba Castle during the Edo period of the one-country-one-castle system. Currently, there is a parking lot, and there is a road from which you can walk up to the castle tower. There are some collapsed roads and stone walls, but I arrived in about 15 minutes. On the way, I was able to see Kuruwa, Monzeki, Kura, Ishigaki, etc. The "Kanayama Castle Ruins" has been well maintained so that you can get a glimpse of what it was like in the past, and I felt that you could imagine the defense technology of Yamashiro. I thought that if the buildings were reproduced here, it would be a very good mountain castle and a good stage for sightseeing, movies, and dramas.
