Not sure if particular about this Akasaka branch specifically, but the place looked a bit touristy...a mild turn-off for me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent restaurant with great food. Sit at the bar to watch the chefs prepare all the dishes. Exotic meats are available on the menu such as horse and whale. Watch the chefs prepare meats and vegetables over burning handfuls of hay which imparts a great smokey flavour. You know a restaurant is good when it's filled with locals on a Monday night. Waitress forgot our rice order and brought it at the end of our meal after we finished all our main dishes. Aside from that slip up, would've given this restaurant a 5 star rating.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice location next to our hotel so we went there for a late dinner,. Food tasted good. They had an English menu and the staff was friendly and atmosphere very good. We had a nice table and ordered the food.. tasted all very nice. What really bothers me is they charge you 500 yen a table charge for some salad with a dressing of choice. You expect to get it as part as a service. So be aware of that when you eat here... you are never informed.... until you see the menu but by that time you are too late... this is why it gets a 3 star rating instead of a 4.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Both the service and the food are amazing here. Exceeded my expectations. They have an Open kitchen where you can view how they cook the food. For those who like to try unique food, they have horse and whale. My favourite here is the seared and salted Bonito fish. Be sure to make a reservation in advance.
