★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 入り口の看板には下記のことが書かれていました。
石川地方は、日本三大鉱物の産地の一つに救えられますが、この鉱物は、ベクマタイト（巨晶花崗岩）から産出します。
石川町では、明治の終りごろから昭和４０年半ばまで長石と珪石を掘り出した町として有名で、町は賑わいました。
瀬戸物のうわ薬となる長石とガラスやレンズなどの原料になる珪石（石英）もペクマタイトから産出します。
現在、貴重な鉱物を産したベクマタイトや鉱山跡も開発によって見られなくなりました。今、ここに見られる旧鉱山跡とベクマタイトは、失った石川の歴史をよみがえらせました。
■見られる鉱物
石英・長石・白うんも・黒うんも・ざくろ石・電気石など
このようなペクマタイトは、現在の石川町では貴重なものです。
このまま、いつまでも後世に残したいものと「石川鉱石採掘跡保存会」一同、保存に努めております。
ここは、私たち町民の貴重な文化遺産です。指定場所以外での鉱物の採取はしないで下さい。

The following was written on the signboard at the entrance.
The Ishikawa region can be saved as one of the three major mineral producing regions in Japan, and this mineral is produced from bekmatite (macrolite granite).
In Ishikawa Town, it was famous for excavating feldspar and silica stone from the end of the Meiji era until the middle of 1965, and the town was thriving.
⇒ Pelagmatite also produces feldspar, which is a glaze for seto, and silica stone (quartz), which is a raw material for glass and lenses.
Currently, bekmatite, which produced precious minerals, and mine traces are no longer visible due to development. The old mine site and Bekmatite that can be seen here now bring back the history of the lost Ishikawa.
■ Minerals that can be seen
Quartz, feldspar, white urchin, black urchin, garnet, tourmaline, etc.
━ Such pecmatites are valuable in the current Ishikawa town.
The "Ishikawa Ore Mining Site Preservation Society" and the "Ishikawa Ore Mining Preservation Society" are working hard to preserve what they want to keep for future generations.
This is a precious cultural heritage of our townspeople. Do not collect minerals in any place other than the designated place.

It is a historic mine in Ishikawa Town. It seems that the ground is firmly stable where it did not collapse even after the Great East Japan Earthquake.
