★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 奈良時代の天平神護年間(765)に三河国が飢饉に見舞われた時、朝廷は倉庫を開いて救済につとめ、国司は住民に神を祀らさせるため大雀命を勧請した。天正3年(1575)信長・家康が長篠合戦に出陣した際、この社に武運を祈願している。江戸時代は旗本米津氏の知行所となり、代々の領主は初穂米を献じ崇敬している。明治5年郷社に列した。
天下の奇祭として、「若葉祭」が有名。

During the Edo period, it became a pilgrimage place for Mr. Yonezu Hatamoto, and successive generations of lords have dedicated and respected Hatsumi rice. It was lined up at Gosha in the 5th year of Meiji.
The Wakaba Festival is famous as a strange festival in the world.

創建年は天平神護年間 765年〜767年と古い。
立派神社で、境内もかなり綺麗にされているのだが、
周囲に人の気配がせず、
ゆっくりと雰囲気を楽しむことが出来た。
牛久保駅から歩くと、
１０分くらいの距離だと思う。

Although the precincts are pretty clean at the standing shrine,
There is no sign of people around me,
I was able to enjoy the atmosphere slowly.
When we walk from Ushikubo Station,

牛久保は伊那街道に沿う宿場町として発展していたみたいであり、その名残は見て伺い知る事が出来る。
近くには今川義元の胴塚がある。
御守りや、おみくじとかはなかった。社務所も無人のようであった。
たまたまなのか神社の拝殿の扉は閉まっており、内部を伺い知る事はできない。
拝殿から本殿への造りも、神秘的にで格式がある雰囲気を醸し出している。
牛久保八幡社の祭礼で、愛知県の無形民俗文化財に指定されていてる奇祭
「牛久保の若葉祭」通称「うなごうじまつり」が有名との事だか、今はコロナの影響で執り行われていないみたい。
