★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 室町時代初期の高僧で夢窓疎石の高弟、春屋妙葩（普明国師）が京都で政争に巻き込まれて丹後に隠棲していたことがあるらしい。そのお寺の後継がこのお寺。
臨済宗天龍寺派の格式ある寺院らしく庭園が美しい。
また、帝国海軍舞鶴鎮守府のあった街らしく、アジア太平洋戦争で亡くなった舞鶴鎮守府在籍者の位牌を奉安し永代供養しているという。このお寺の近くにある海軍墓地にある慰霊碑前での慰霊祭の前に、こちらのお寺で法要を行っているみたい。
It seems that Shun'oku Myojo (Fumei Kokushi), a high priest in the early Muromachi period and a high-ranking younger brother of Muso Soseki, was involved in a political dispute in Kyoto and retired to Tango. This temple is the successor to that temple.
The garden is beautiful like a prestigious temple of the Rinzai sect Tenryuji school.
In addition, it is said that the town where the Imperial Japanese Navy Maizuru Naval District was located is dedicated to the mortuary tablets of Maizuru Naval District students who died in the Asia Pacific War. It seems that a memorial service is being held at this temple before the memorial service in front of the memorial monument in the Navy Cemetery near this temple.
