民間といっても法人機関で、通称は産総研。
広大な敷地の中には入る前に門の脇にある受付で番号札を借りて車の見える位置に置かなければなりません。
広すぎる為に車でないと移動は難しいでしょう。
番号札は敷地内から帰る時に門の所で係員に返します。
中は赤茶色のレンガ造りの似たような建物が林立しており、慣れていない人は迷いそうになります。
建物は古いので頻繁に交代で補修工事をしています。
食堂や売店もあるので職員や来場した人は大概の事はそちらで済ませる事ができますよ。
