Being a Foodie ?, definitely the first thing we do (after checking in to our airbnb) was to hunt for food! If I recalled correctly, this recommendation was from tripadvisor - Grill Hokutosei, a Japanese curry rice joint ?. This isn't a very touristy establishment, so be prepared to get a little lost looking for it ?. Google maps helped bring us to the area where the restaurant is but locating it took a bit of time. Local passers-by were friendly & took the time to direct us, and after some wandering & several linguistically challenging conversations, we found it! ?? Situated inside an unassuming office building near Umeda, & as with most restaurants in Japan, this restaurant is small & caters to limited number of diners. We were excited to see the delicious looking fake dishes at the display counter, we were really hungry by then. So we got ourselves seated at the counter & made our orders. ? We ordered: ? Toruko Raksu - Pork cutlet curry omurice with pilaf rice ? Combo A - Jumbo shrimp & fish cutlet, with hamburg with curry and plain white rice Verdict? They were sooooo good. Loved the curry seasoning of the pilaf rice, the deep fried proteins were fried to perfection (crispy outside, moist inside), the hamburg steak was tender & juicy, and the curry... (drooling as I post this) was superbly rich, creamy, flavourful & just binds everything together... Oh heaven! ?? Oh how I miss Japan! ?
