★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 口コミに店員さんが愛想がないとか書かれていたので少しドキドキしながらも新書が欲しくて来店しました。が、愛想がないんじゃなくて、本屋さんらしい物静かな方が店員さんなだけ。ファーストフード店じゃあるまいし、そんなニコニコも別に要らないのでは？と個人的には感じます。丁寧な接客と、何より新書にも丁寧に折り目を付けてカバーを付けてくださったのがとても好印象で、ゆっくりのんびり本を散策しにいくのにピッタリだなと感じました。
文庫本がもう少し種類豊富だとなお嬉しいですが、メインどころはあるので、問題ないかな。
また欲しい本を見つけに伺いたいと思います。
The word of mouth said that the clerk was unfriendly, so I was a little nervous but wanted a new book and came to the store. However, it's not that they are unfriendly, but the quiet person who seems to be a bookstore is just a clerk. It's not a fast food restaurant, so maybe you don't need that kind of smile. I personally feel that. I was very impressed by the polite customer service and, above all, the careful creases and covers on the new books, and I felt that it was perfect for taking a leisurely stroll through the books.
I'd be happy if there were a little more variety of paperback books, but since there is a main point, I wonder if there is any problem.
I would like to come back to find the book I want.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 不思議な書店。特別広くも狭くもない。品揃えも可もなく不可もなし。文庫本もそこそこあるのだが、出版社別に本棚が別れているので好きな作家さんを探したいときにあちこちウロウロする必要があるので少し面倒です。また出版社ごとの蔵書量にやや偏りがあるように感じました。珍しい書籍が色々置いてあるので物色するだけでも面白いです。
A mysterious bookstore. It is neither particularly wide nor narrow. There is neither good nor bad assortment. There are some paperback books, but the bookshelves are separated by publisher, so it's a little annoying because you have to wander around when you want to find your favorite author. I also felt that the amount of books collected by each publisher was slightly biased. There are various rare books, so it's fun just to look around.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 名古屋では珍しく個人創業のお店で、創業者は若い頃に中央公論の編集者だったので、197−80年代には、お店の機関誌もあったし、お店主催の講演会でも著名な学者や文人の講演会を主催されていた。
最近では詩人の吉増剛造さんの講演会には、小生を含めて多数の聴講者があった。このような書店経営は名古屋では貴重な存在である。
品揃えもそうした経験とコネクションを利用して、他店では仕入れていない作品を多数揃えているのは、この書店ならではである。大型書店には、真似のできない棚揃えであり、遠近隣の出版社の営業、書店員や図書館員たちが頻繁に立ち寄っている（もちろん名物店長の五味さんにお目通りするために）お店でもあるのだが、一般人には気づけない工夫が多数ある。
その品揃えを維持している関係で、地元財界のVIPも帰路社用車を待機させて、新刊を確認している方もおられる。
ネット通販の影響は、避けられていないが、常連客が立ち寄らないことはない、実力を維持している稀有な書店が名古屋にも存在する。
