★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 明治29年の明治三陸大津波、昭和8年の昭和三陸津波の津波記念碑があります。そしてあらたに平成23年の東日本大震災の碑が建てられました。明治の記念碑は破損して読むことができませんでしたが、昭和の記念碑にはこうあります。
『大津波くぐりて めげぬ雄心もて いざ追い進み参い登らまし』
昭和三陸津波の後につくられ、三陸の子供たちに"津波の歌""復興の歌"として歌われていたようです。
平成23年東日本大震災の碑にはもっと多くの言葉が刻まれています。
この丁度真上の丘の上には、測量之碑や星座石があります。
 There is a tsunami memorial of the Meiji Sanriku tsunami in 1891 and the Showa Sanriku tsunami in 1948. And a monument of the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011 was newly built. The Meiji Monument was damaged and unreadable, but the Showa Monument says:
"Go through the big tsunami and have a great heart and soul"
It was created after the Showa Sanriku tsunami and was sung by the children of Sanriku as the "Tsunami Song" and "Reconstruction Song."
More words are engraved on the monument of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake.
There is a surveying monument and a constellation stone on the hill just above.
