白虎隊が敗走時に抜けた水路としても有名。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 農業用に開拓された用水堰。会津戦争時、猪苗代湖畔の戸ノ口原で敗れた白虎隊士20名がこの洞穴を潜って、自決の地となる飯盛山へ逃れたと言われている。洞穴の出口は、思ったよりも小さく流れも早いように見えました。
A water weir that was developed for agriculture. It is said that during the Aizu War, 20 white tiger soldiers who were defeated in Tonoguchihara on the shore of Lake Inawashiro dive into this cave and escape to Iimoriyama, the place of self-determination.
