Tomyoji - Yamatokoriyama

Tomyoji Temple, which is said to have been founded by Prince Toneri in 693, is a temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect whose mountain name is Nabekurayama, and its principal image is Yakushi Nyorai. When Prince Toneri's mother, Empress Jito, suffered an eye, Shirahige Myojin, who turned into an old man, appeared at the bedside of Prince Toneri and washed his mother's eyes with the spirit water scooped up by the announcement.
