由利町教育委員会（平成の大合併後は由利本荘市教育委員会）の史跡「巴館」の記述より。この巴館は、仁治年間（1240年〜1242年）に木曽義仲の愛妾・巴御前の一門である巴太郎頼勝が築いた館である。巴一族は木曽義仲に従って戦功をたてたが、寿永3年1月（1184年）義仲は、源範頼・義経に攻められ、近江の粟津で討ち死にした後、巴一族は流浪し、巴太郎頼勝はこの地に隠住した。応仁年間（1467年〜1468年）、由理十二頭の下向に伴い、由利の地を領した滝沢氏に恭順し、巴源七家の祖となった。また、巴館のそばに住んでいた佐藤茂右衛門家の遠祖忠信は、源義経に従い一の谷の合戦後、奥州に下り、この地に来て巴太郎に仕えたと言われる。館は道をはさんで東側に広がっており、現在の春日神社境内が、巴館の最高部に位置していると考えられる（平成2年9月）。

In addition, it is said that Mr. Toso Tadanobu of the Sato Shigeemon, who lived beside the temple hall, came down to Oshu after the war of the valley of the valley according to the source Yoshitsune, came to this place, and served Kotaro. The pavilion extends eastward across the road, and it is thought that the present Kasuga Shrine grounds are located at the highest part of the pavilion (September 1990).
